Turning Data Into
Ecological Intelligence
Critical Minerals, Energy Transition & Mapping across Southeast Asia.
Uncovering the Hidden Costs of Extraction
As an environmental and human rights researcher and spatial analyst, I focus on the complex dynamics of Indonesia's extractive industries, particularly nickel mining and critical minerals essential for the global energy transition.
My work combines Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), and extensive field investigation to trace supply chains, monitor environmental compliance, and map corporate networks. By rendering visible what is often hidden, I aim to provide evidence-based analysis for policy reform and environmental advocacy.
I collaborate with NGOs, local communities, and research institutions to document the socio-environmental impacts of large-scale resource extraction and support affected communities in their pursuit of environmental justice.
Areas of Investigation
Critical Mineral Supply Chain
Tracking the flow of nickel, cobalt, and other critical minerals from Indonesian mines through processing facilities to global electric vehicle battery manufacturers.
Energy Transition
Analyzing how Indonesia's downstream mineral processing strategy and renewable energy commitments interact, creating both opportunities and environmental risks.
Environmental Justice
Documenting environmental, human rights, and social impacts on communities near mining operations, focusing on health, livelihood, and land rights.
Spatial Analysis & GIS
Using geospatial technologies to monitor land-use change, deforestation, mining expansion, and environmental degradation.
Mining Governance
Evaluating regulatory compliance, licensing transparency, and governance frameworks in Indonesia's mining sector.
OSINT & Investigative Research
Using open-source intelligence techniques to trace corporate ownership structures, financial flows, and supply chain connections.
